Having now won my 7th Grand final in hockey as a player. One with Crows Nest Boys High School, one with Gordon North Sydney Hockey Club, one with Forster-Tuncurry Strikers & 4 now with Corowa-Rutherglen United. It seems like it’s just part of life now. This year we won the premiership undefeated & what a team we had. Plus the fact My son and daughter also won their grand finals on the weekend.

But I came home Sunday night and had a hot shower to soothe the aches & sores in my old body and I played a wonderful song by Chris Tomlin called ‘Our God’.

Our God is greater
Our God is stronger
God, You are higher than any other
Our God is healer
Awesome in power
Our God, our God

What a great reminder of who God is & I found myself rejoicing in the fact what a fantastic God we worship. I was far more joyful in praising God than I was to win another grand final. I know the prize waiting for me in heaven was a million times better than the tiny little token medallion I got hanging around my neck. I was reminded in heaven there are no losers. Just like a team of players, a team of believers is just as exciting to be around in fellowship. Wow, there’s so much to rejoice in!

Plus the fact our family were in the paper this week promoting hockey not just as players but as a church. I have done funerals for my team so they already know that I’m a Christian minister. But I was rejoicing that now the whole hockey association knows that I’m a Christian minister – not just in Corowa but throughout Albury-Wodonga. I praise God that we can be a light to people through our community participation. Wow again, there’s so much to rejoice in!!!
