Corowa vision statement: “Seeing Christ Grow in us. Seeing Christ flow out of us.”
It’s true that we aim to know Christ and make him known but really, you have to have more to your Christian faith than just having knowledge. That’s why we want to grow in Christ, in his love, his grace, his mercy and every bit of our lives. Using a farming analogy, we have to sow before we can grow. And we need to grow before we can go. Meaning we have to sit, learn and listen before we can start out on making disciples of all nations. Therefore our vision as a church that puts our faith and trust in the death and resurrection is to make the word of God available and relevant to people in today’s society so we can grow followers of Jesus.
And once we have grown in our own faith and trust in our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ then we can take the message of Jesus out to the ends of the earth. To make his Word flow out to others. Therefore what we are aiming to do as God’s church is to equip Christians to live Christ, breath Christ, speak Christ, serve Christ, share Christ, love Christ and follow Christ. We want Christ to overflow in our lives and out into the community.
